Some important terms of cotton fibers Fibrils: The fibrils are composed of smaller microfibrils,the smallest being of cellulose molecules , which constituents the cell wall of the cellulose fiber . It has been considered that the microfibrils  of cellulose is the smallest morphological unit with a diameter of about 3.5 nm , finer microfibrils  may have also diameter less than 2 nm. Convolution : The lumen of the growing acts as a channel through which materials are carried along the fiber . When the ball opens, the fibers dry.
