Difference between woven and knit fabric

Fiber: It is defined as one of the delicate, hair portions of the tissues of a plant or animal or other substances that are very small in diameter in relation to there length .A fiber is a material which hundred times as long as its thick.     Yarn: A continuous linear strand of fiber assembly ,either twisted or not.   Fabric : Assembly of yarn by interlacing , intermeshing/interlooping or fusing/non-woven process to make a sheet like structure. or A cloth made by weaving, knitting or felting fibers. v There are four types of fabric.  1. Woven fabric  2. Knit fabric     3.      Non-woven fabric  4.Braid fabric        Difference between woven and knit fabric:          Woven  Fabric                                    Knit Fabric Woven fabric is produced by interlacing. Knit fabric is produced by interlooping. It is produced to need 2 set of yarn. It is produced to need 1 set of yarn. It is dimentional stru

Count,Types,Example.

Content: 1. Defination 2.Types 3. Example Count: No. of hank in 1 pound where 1 hanks= 840yds OR Numerical expression to describe a yarn courses or fineness. OR  Count: Linear density= weight per unit length= Length per unit weight. v There are two types of  count 1.      Direct count 2.      Indirect count    Mainly indirect  count use most of the side §   Indirect count: Weight fixed length variable     as like as 20 Ne 20 hank in 1 pound where 1 hanks = 840 yds 840 গজে 20 টি সুতার ওজন 1 pound.  ( 20*840yds/lb) অন্যভাবে বলা যায় 840 গজে 20 hank  সুতা যদি  ওজন  করি 1 pound হবে। 30 Ne is better than 20 Ne . Direct count: Length fixed weight variable. 40 TEX : 1000m  সুতার ওজন40gm. 50 TEX:  1000m  সুতার ওজন50gm. 40 TEX is better than 50 TEX.  Any question???

Bamboo Fibers , Features, use

Image
Bamboo Fibers Bamboo fibers is a regenerated cellulosic fiber produced from bamboo .Chemical  processes produce bamboo fiber. It is made from 100% bamboo pulp fiber. It is characterized by its good hygroscopicity, excellent permeability, soft feel,  easiness to strength  and dye and splendid  color effect of pigmentation. Features 1.        Softer than cotton , with a texture similar to blend of cashmere and silk. 2.        Natural antibacterial elements in  bamboo fiber keep bacteria away from bamboo fabrics. 3.        100%  bamboo yarns show a great elasticity i.e. nearly 20%. 4.        Product of bamboo fiber is eco friendly. End use 1.Intimate apparels include sweaters, bath suits, underwear, tight t shirt, socks 2.Due  to its anti bacterial nature ,non woven fabric has wide prospects in the field of hygiene m materials such as sanitary napkin, masks , mattress ,food packing ,bags. 3. Sanitary materials : Bandages , mask, surgical clothes , nurses wears and s
Ginning of seed cotton  The freshly or first picked cotton has seeds in it, is called seed cotton. After picking the cotton fiber has to  be separated from the seeds . This process y which separated the seeds from the fiber is known as Ginning. It is  carried out mechanically.  There are two types of  Ginning process Ø   Saw ginning : It is used mainly for short and medium length fiber. Ø   Roller ginning : It is often preferred for longer fiber .  It is a slower and mostly cost process. Faults and  impurities of cotton fiber Ø   Neps :   Neps are  small groups of entangled fibers which form at cotton processing. In  spinning neps are difficult to eliminate or to comb. It create problem during textile processing. Ø    Coils: Slightly roped groups of fibers. Mainly short fibers , dead fibers ,  and ill fibers are forming this type of fault. Ø    Fiber strings : Strongly roped groups of fibers of different shape. It create problem in spinning. Ø    Trash: Mai

Types of commercial cotton

Types of commercial cotton Sea Island Cotton: This is the highest quality and most valuable of all the commercial cottons. It grows on the coast of the Gulf of Florida, in Barbados , and in other adjacent Island where the climate is favorable. Properties Length: Average length  2 inch Diameter: Average 1/1500  inch (0.017mm) Color: White to cream Advantages / uses  It is famous for its uniformity, maturity, high luster , softness and its highly developed twist. It can be used for spinning counts as high as 1/200. Egyptian cotton: There are two kinds of Egyptian cotton , one brown and other white. Brown Egyptian cotton is like Sea Island Cotton. Properties  Length: 1.5 -1.75inch Diameter : Average 1/1500  inch (0.017mm) Color : Brown, which makes the bleaching process more difficult White Egyptian cotton is not so fine , having a staple length about 1 inch. Advantages/ Uses  Brown Egyptian cotton is very regular and conta
Some important terms of cotton fibers Fibrils: The fibrils are composed of smaller microfibrils, the smallest being of cellulose molecules , which constituents the cell wall of the cellulose fiber . It has been considered that the microfibrils  of cellulose is the smallest morphological unit with a diameter of about 3.5 nm , finer microfibrils  may have also diameter less than 2 nm. Convolution : The lumen of the growing acts as a channel through which materials are carried along the fiber . When the ball opens, the fibers dry. The removal of fluids from the lumen and inter molecular water in the cellulose during drying causes the cylinderical fibers to form or convolution. In fully matured fiber there are between 200 to 300 convolutions per inch. Dead Fiber: Immature fibers are called dead fibers which growth came to an end before they were mature. The dry immature fiber does not show the oval or kidney like cross section . Often immature fiber shows U shaped cross sectio
